Top 10 Things I Love about Cooking Club

Saturday, April 9, 2011

  1. Everyone is a foodie. Most of us follow the Pioneer Woman, Bakerella and other foodie blogs.
  2. I laugh so hard that I sometimes cry (I'm surprised I haven't peed my pants!)
  3. The swear words fly and the gestures are even funnier!
  4. Drinks are the highlight. Mojitos? Bellinis?
  5. Themes make gatherings fun. Caribbean? Steakhouse?
  6. Recipes are easy to duplicate. No funky, hard-to-find ingredients.
  7. Dishes are kept a surprise until we meet. So far no duplicates.
  8. There's never a bad dish. Sometimes we're licking our fingers if that says anything!
  9. We talk about everything and anything. Someone always has an interesting story.
  10. There's no drama. We all mesh. It's about good times and good friends.

90 something

Saturday, April 2, 2011

It's 90 something degrees today. We decided to give the slip n' slide a try, despite the box directions that it was for 5+. Now we know why it says 5+. Not that it's dangerous (well, I guess it could be), but because a 3 year old just doesn't weigh enough to slide very far. It took a lot of running to get even a small slide, but Ethan loved it regardless. Here's to summer approaching too quickly!

Superman dive!

Splish splash!

Woah dude!
Holding on, Mommy!

This will be a landing!

Watch out, Mommy!

And then there was March...

Thursday, March 31, 2011

Going, going, gone! Here's to getting better with posting in April. March highlights included: meeting Thomas the Train (in Globe, AZ), visiting Amy's dairy farm (feeding Hoover the big tortoise, seeing the baby cows and driving fast on the golf cart), riding bikes in the rain (a special event because it rarely rains), seeing our doggie friends from the West Valley (a needed visit after losing Lucy), a visit from Uncle Marv and Auntie Carol from Wisconsin, going to Jameson's 1st birthday party, going out for cooking club instead of eating in (Chelsea's Kitchen is yum-o), visiting GG & Lenny in Palm Springs, Disneyland with cousin Barry, and seeing the LA zoo and Santa Monica pier while visiting Uncle Jason & Auntie Mai (in LA).

Daddy-o and Ethan with Thomas.

Thomas was cool.

So happy to see my Aunt & Uncle!

Farmer Greg at the Hogenes Dairy likes when I visit.

Jameson's 1st Birthday celebration at Tumbleweed Park.

Jameson is already walking!

Scorpion season has already started. These rain boots from Uncle Mark sure have come in handy during our nightly raids!

Biking in the rain.

Painted elephants around the LA zoo.

We loved the flamingos!
The LA zoo had a lot of animals, but the PHX zoo is better.

Freaking out over the bums so snapped this one quick!

First night at Disney. Stayed until midnight.

We had a fun couple of days with cousin Barry and Miss Margaret (Ethan's nickname for Aunt Margaret). We walked about 8 miles a day (according to the pedometer), including Ethan who had no stroller. And, we closed the park most nights!

The kids meet lots of Disney characters during dinner at Goofy's Kitchen.
Climbing the Lego at the Lego store in downtown Disney.

Ride Makerz ROCKS! Can't wait to check out the local store.
Gotta have a Mickey pop at Disney!

Ethan's working on not covering the flash when he takes pictures.
We love Mickey! Even more, we loved all of the roller coasters. We still can't believe we made the 40" limit. I'm positive the shoes and hair helped.

Where Does the Time Go?

Time slips by so quickly. So, here goes our February highlights: Transportation Day, trip to Smeeks, Charlotte's Web performance, Imagination Movers concert, trip to Palm Springs and seeing the movie Rango. Enjoy the photos and don't forget to follow us at www.facebook.com/3grahamcrackers on Facebook.

The 3 Amigos on the helicopter!

Ok boys, how fast do you want me to drive?

Acting silly on the fire engine.

Dressed western for the occasion.

Getting pumped for the concert!

Meeting the Movers backstage was AWESOME!

The Movers were so friendly. We didn't know they have kids, too!

Got all the Movers and Nina to sign Ethan's t-shirt and baseball cap! They ROCK!

Having lunch at Sugar Bowl.
Meeting Wilbur and Charlotte after the performance.
