The Cookies

Thursday, December 16, 2010

Mommy is driving the car past the shopping mall on the way to school.

Ethan: Mommy, look! The cookies live over there.

Mommy: What cookies are you talking about?

Ethan: The sprinkle cookies. They live there (pointing out the window).

Mommy: Are you talking about the cookies we got the other day at Paradise Bakery? The ones with the green sprinkles on them?

Ethan: Yes!

Wishing for a Winter Wonderland

No snow in Phoenix and not much in all of Arizona right now. But, at Winterfest they were creating snow from ice blocks for the children to play in. Snowballs were the big hit! Ethan can't wait to go up to Flagstaff this winter and play on the real stuff. I can't imagine putting this gear on everyday. Talk about work!

Moo-ey Christmas

We didn't see Santa once this December, we saw Santa twice! However, the real Santa lives up north, according to Ethan. Since we haven't really talked about real versus fake Santas, I'm not sure how he decided the Santa we saw up north was real. We were able to catch a few pictures with Santa on his bright red tractor while visiting one of the local farms. They had their annual Moo-ey Christmas celebration with a petting zoo, hayride, face painting and pretend snow (cotton seeds). The one benefit to living in a large city is having the opportunity to attend so many different events. Next up, the train park and Winterfest!

Our North Pole Experience

A week ago we spent a few days up north in Pinetop and Greer, in the Arizona White Mountains. We took the adventure with Ethan's best friends, Hudson and Carter. Their family has a cabin in Pinetop so we spent a couple of days relaxing, walking, biking, eating, drinking and enjoying each others company. There were no time constraints for once. The boys enjoyed every minute, especially finding some snow and throwing snowballs and exchanging Christmas gifts. Ethan got a new crane, dump truck and garbage truck, while the boys got new personalized aprons and cooking sets. All three boys have taken cooking classes together. And during our gift giving, Santa or his elves stopped by the porch because the boys were left with Golden tickets to the North Pole Experience or "Santa's workshop to see the real Santa." We spent another couple days in Greer seeing Santa, Mrs. Claus, the workshop and all the elves. Mrs. Claus made cookies and snowman soup (hot chocolate) for us and the elves let us help make toys. We also got the inside on elf school before telling Santa what we wanted for Christmas - Ethan a skateboard and scooter. Daddy-o couldn't make the trip since he was recovering from knee surgery, but we all had a lot of fun (see 7 minute video)!

We Love Yo Gabba Gabba!

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

When I saw Yo Gabba Gabba was coming to town, I was on tickets now! With Daddy-o's knee surgery I ended up taking Ethan and his best friend Hudson. I had purchased backstage party passes so after the awesome show (it's just like what you see on TV), we got to meet the Gabba gang, less DJ Lance. Ethan looked so handsome in his DJ Lance glasses. We also met one of the guests on the show and saw rapper Biz Markie. Can't wait until Imagination Movers in February!

Rustler's Rooste

Before our trip with Uncle Jason came to an end, we had to visit Rustler's Rooste. Ethan spent most of the night on the famous slide and having a pink butterfly balloon hat made while snacking on a few appetizers. Jason and Mai has never seen so much food on the table! We sure are going to miss Jason and Mai. Luckily, Uncle Jason will be back for Christmas. At least the shopping is almost done. :)
